House Cross Country Carnival

The 2025 House Cross Country Carnival is this Friday, and the excitement is building! Students from Years 3 to 6 will take to the course to proudly represent their House in a thrilling day of long-distance running.

Throughout Term 2, students have shown fantastic commitment, training hard during PE lessons and lunchtime sessions to prepare for the big day. Their efforts, determination, and teamwork have set the stage for a fun and memorable event.

The carnival is not only a celebration of fitness and house spirit but also a fantastic lead-up to our House Athletics Carnival in Weeks 6 and 7 of this term.

The distances are as follows:

Presentations

This year, we’re thrilled to see a record number of students nominating to compete in the Cross Country Carnival! A huge part of this incredible turnout is thanks to our House Points system—every student who crosses the finish line outside the top 10 earns 1 House Point, encouraging maximum participation and rewarding perseverance and effort.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of community, fitness, and House spirit.

We warmly invite all parents and caregivers to come along and cheer on their children and Houses. Your support from the sidelines makes a big difference and adds to the vibrant atmosphere of the day.

The Cross Country Carnival is the perfect way to kick off an action-packed term of athletics, with our House Athletics Carnival just around the corner in Weeks 6 and 7.

We do ask that parents stick to one of the three designated spectator areas being:

  1. On the balcony of the old art room
  2. Behind the footy goals on Labouchere Roadside
  3. Behind the footy goals on Coode St side

We ask that you kindly do not enter the Cross-Country course at any point in time as we are running back-to-back races.

Let’s make it a day full of encouragement, energy, and enthusiasm!
