A Few Words From Chaplain Meng
Time with Pre Primary Students
On Bulling No Way National Week of Action from 11 to 15 Aug, I visited our Pre-Primary classes to introduce myself, my role as Chaplain and share about being a buddy, not a bully. We learnt from the story “We Are (Not) Friends,” by Anna Kang. You can find the story on youtube at: We Are (Not) Friends! | Animated Read Aloud Kids Book | Vooks Narrated Stor ybooks (youtube.com)
We then had a game to practise being a buddy by ensuring no one was left out. The students had to arrange themselves within hoops, according to the rule I stated, ensuring no one was left in a hoop all by himself or herself. Guess the rule that was given from these photos before reading the answers.
Students watching the story attentively
Rule – Arms covered v’s arms not covered

Rule – Dark vs Light covered shoes
It sounds like a simple game but it certainly required cooperation and problem solving. Thumbs up to our students for helping one another and promptly jumping into another’s hoop appropriately when they noticed someone in there alone. I look forward to getting to know our PPs at playtime starting this term. I hope they will see me as a safe person to approach when they see more of me in the playground next year in Yr 1.
