A reminder that tomorrow – Friday 16 May – is Walk Safely To School Day.
This event asks all to consider our transport habits and try to incorporate more walking as part of a healthy, active way to get around. Although walking all the way to school may not be possible for many of us, it is quite easy to build a walk into your family’s daily routine.
Tomorrow morning, our school will be joined by officers from Kensington Police Station, who will be here to greet families and share Walk Safely To School Day stickers.
We encourage all in our school community to participate in this event by:
- Walking together to school
- If using public transport, walk past your usual stop and get on at the next stop.
- If you drive, park the car at the nearby church and walk the rest of the way.

Traffic Safety – Parking
Schools can be hectic places during drop-off and pick-up times. It is at these times we require support from our school community to ensure student safety.
To help ensure student safety when parking:
- Use the marked carparks on Alston Avenue or use the carpark behind the Holy Family Catholic Church.
- The Kiss & Drive zone in Coode Street is a “No Parking” zone between 7.30-9.30am and 2.30-4.00pm.
- Do not park in the marked “No Standing Zones”
- Do not use the staff carpark.
Parents are requested to exercise care, and to pay close attention to the Council Parking By-Laws. Rangers attend regularly to monitor the situation and could issue fines.
Thank you for your support in ensuring student safety.
